A four-page letter entirely in his hand, dated March 4, 1873, (New York), to "Mrs. Botta," describing several vases found in Cyprus and stating that he is "engaged in arranging, and classifying the Cesnola Collection for the Museum." With a large signature "L. Di Cesnola." Usual fold, 3" split at lower joint and a short marginal tear to front page. Scarce.
